Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and a graduate of the Alberta University of the Arts in 2016. After finishing my degree, I moved abroad to England where I worked for a series of studios including Wiedemann Lampe, Quantum and Pretty Clever Design. In 2018, landed back in Toronto and freelancing for range of clients including DX Exchange, CrowdRiff, VMG and Holt Renfrew. Then worked as a designer for Virtue - creative agency powered by Vice until spring 2022.
When not working, you can find me at the studio (part of Akin Collective), making a mess, abstract painting, designing installations, and building sculptures. See my artwork at melhayes.art
